Located on the edge of local township, coastal reservoirs and the Great Ocean Road. The brief calls for a new dwelling to succeed the client's family home. This project comprise two simple volumes, arranged at the rear of a relatively sloped site. The main form, intended for permanent residence for the client and the secondary form, a guest suite for their extended family.

Within the main volume, two bedrooms, accompanied by an ensuite & robe are mirrored on the ground floor, sharing views towards the coast. Above is the kitchen, living and personal study. Walls and windows are set back to accommodate two generous balconies facing the sandy coastal strip, dense wooded hills and a secluded courtyard. This set back helps accentuate a set of rammed earth columns in the facade to create depth and to passively shelter from sunlight.
